We are looking for an experienced Food Scientist/Chef specializing in keto and low-carb food product development to lead the research, formulation, baking and testing of healthy versions of popular foods, snacks and powdered products. This role requires deep expertise in food chemistry, ingredient alternatives and functionality, and shelf-stability to create high-quality, market-ready products.
Job Description:
Develop and test shelf-stable keto-friendly recipes for snacks, baked goods, and powders.
Products include but are not limited to:
Seasoning blends
Powdered salad dressing mixes
Flavored sweeteners for water
Bread and cookie dry mixes
Crackers
Sugar-free Chocolate
Pizza crust
Granola
Formulate shelf-stable food products that align with Dr. Berg's Healthy Keto principles.
Collaborate with the team to research and source high-quality, clean-label ingredients.
Ensure nutritional accuracy and compliance with keto dietary standards.
Develop and improve ideal texture, flavor, and ingredient substitutions for optimal product performance.
Stay updated on keto food trends, ingredient innovations, and regulatory requirements.
Ideal Background and Qualifications:
Degree in Food Science, Culinary Science and Arts, or related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in R&D food product development, preferably in keto, low-carb and functional foods.
Experience in baking formulations, seasonings, emulsification, and sugar-free and grain-free alternatives.
Knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and formulation techniques.
Strong understanding of food preservation, shelf stability, and clean-label formulating.
Ability to create recipes and test food products at home or commercial kitchen.
Pay: $30/hr open to negotiation
Location: Fully remote (in-home kitchen or facility required)
Type: Contractor full-time to part-time
